This piece of wood had been in my studio for a very long time. I couldn't find anything that worked with it. Until I decided to take the opposite side than I normally would. I left some bark on to help accentuate the piece.

I was out of our cabin before sunrise and hiking down to Tofino Beach through the rainforest. For any who have been there, this is this spectacular moment when you hear the beach and start to see light and feel the cool air through the tall trees. I wandered the beach alone in contemplation and this is one of my favourite shots from the day.

Emulsion transfer onto kiln-dried Ontario Ash.
No resin coating. Archival UV protectant applied.
Indoor only, best not to place in direct sunlight.
