Sean Howard: My Artist Statement

I am a fine art photographer based in Toronto, Ontario. My photographs are about my connection to the natural world. Only I grew tired of always printing and framing my work. I wanted the display of my work to capture this same connection to nature. Live edge lumber called out to me and has held my attention ever since.

My one-of-a-kind wood transfers start with the wood. I find interesting patterns in locally sourced wood, where I am rooted, and then set to creating something new from the melding of wood and image. 

I believe that a search for purpose is what unites all creators, and thus none of us are alone. We are on a shared journey to unearth what truly matters for each of us. I hope you will join me.

Sean Howard: A Short Bio

My professional journey has been an unusual one. I've been a juggler, a 3D artist, a programmer, a dog trainer, a digital strategist, a gaffer, a brand consultant and more. I've built digital strategy teams for top ten agencies and worked with some of the largest brands in Canada.

Today, I'm proud to be a fine art photographer, co-founder of a for-benefit branding firm called The Connected Brand, and a digital consultant. 

I am also an author, the host and creator of Taking the Leap! and a professional speaker. I love meeting passionate people with compelling projects. So if you have something heartfelt and interesting brewing, give me a shout!
